Joy's House Guesthouse and the Children's Shelter Foundation
It is only a few minutes walk from the Children's Shelter Foundation to Joy's House Guesthouse
that was also set up by Joy Hanfaifa and Ulrike Meister and is run today by the younger generation.
Guests are invited to participate in traditional and cultural Thai life and by doing so get to know the Foundation's children's aid project and support it by their holiday.
Also close by is the Tamarind Garden - Italian Cafe & Restaurant,
a 100% Non Profit Project of the Children's Shelter Foundation.
Besides their sincere wish to offer guests a comfortable and unforgettable stay and a genuine insight into Thai culture and the natural surroundings, the owners, Joy and Ulrike, have pursued another goal from the outset: Holiday & Charity is a way of securing a secure financial basis for the Children's Shelter Foundation.
The link has been incredibly successful.
A concept from which both guests at Joy's House and the children and young people of the Children's Shelter Foundation can benefit.
Guests become friends
As a guest in Joy's House you will get to know our young people in the guesthouse itself,
and you are warmly invited to visit also our children and to take part in our lives.
Soon you will be talking about "our children" and "our family" and it will be probably
really hard to say goodbye.
There is only one answer: "Come again soon!"
Activities with the children
We are happy to show you our project and our children's home, and we warmly invite you to get to know our day-to-day life here. The children are looking forward to meeting you, and if you want, you can join in with their sports, games, cooking or homework.
If you want to spend more time with the children, the weekend is a possibility. Maybe you would like to invite some children to go on a trip. For example: to the zoo, the museum, the hot springs, to go swimming, to an ice cream parlour, on night safari or to the cinema, the butterfly house, the Kings
Royal Project or you surprise the children by a foreign home-cooked meal.
If the children's timetable permits, it is also possible to organise a short workshop for the children. Let the children benefit from your hobbies or skills. You don't have to be a professional. It's much more about games and fun and excitement for the children. For example, art, dancing, cooking, sewing, swimming, yoga and much more.
If you would like to give the children or young people a present, we are happy guide you arround together with the children, to buy some of the children purchase urgently needed items. For example, books, school supplies, clothes, shoes, pillows, bedclothes, school uniforms, games, sports equipment, school bags or sometimes simply something sweet, an ice-cream or the fulfilling of a birthday wish.
